Almondy is a Swedish bakery that bakes and sells frozen and chilled cakes. When the company first started in 1982, it was called Mandelbageriet and was situated on Aschebergsgatan in central Gothenburg. Today you will find us in considerably larger premises in Torslanda, around 20 km from the city centre. Here, the everyday work of our 100 or so employees is to spread happiness around the world. Every day, we bake around 80,000 cakes, which are then sold in more than 50 countries.

High quality, good ingredients, delicious flavours and unbeatable simplicity are at the core of everything that we do. Although our tasty cakes cannot perhaps change the world, we are convinced that they contribute to the creation of memorable moments of happiness, every day. We’re proud of this, as this is surely the case. Everything is better with cake.

As in all the best fairy tales, the story of Almondy begins with the words “Once upon a time…”. In our case, there were once two young men named Kent and Lennart who dreamed of building a boat and sailing around the world. One day, however, they came across a forgotten Swedish cake recipe from 1890, and the result was an irresistibly good almond cake that was unlike any other cake they’d ever eaten.

This experience was to transform their lives. Their passion for sailing was replaced by a passion for baking cakes and sharing the unique Almondy tastes with others. In their name, we work to keep their dream alive, and it is now our cakes that travel all around the world. What do you think Kent and Lennart would think about this? They would love it!

At Almondy, we offer a broad range of frozen cakes, from our classic Almond Cake and ever-popular Daim Cake, to our delicious Mud Cake. Cake is an essential element of any successful dinner party, celebration or even a coffee break.
